Is it actually possible to achieve the perfect work-life balance as a small business owner? In my opinion (and many others), the more easily attainable goal is that of work-life integration. I remember having a conversation with a senior executive from Booz Allen Hamilton many months back. As we noshed on Italian delicacies and sipped on our reasonably-priced cocktails, our conversation shifted from the initial pleasantries to work updates. Proposals, capture strategies, employee on-boarding tips, and other topics led the BAH senior executive to say that there is no such thing as work-life balance when you’re an executive. Rather, real executives are constantly in flux, which means that the truly successful individuals are the ones who can continually adjust how their lives and work are integrated.
Wow. Pretty powerful if you ask me. I’ll follow up shortly with a more detailed post, encompassing the various thoughts, questions, answers, and additional realizations I gained from this conversation.
Cheers,
Vivek (Vick)
